Deworming an animal handles the parasites already inside it. It doesn't touch the ones waiting on the pasture. Every time a treated animal grazes, it can pick up new larvae from the same ground, and within weeks the worm burden creeps back to where it started. Fewer larvae make it out. Less pasture gets contaminated. The herd grazing there next picks up less infective material.

Why Pasture Management Matters as Much as Treating the Animal

Most of the gastrointestinal nematodes affecting sheep, goats, cattle, and horses spend part of their life cycle outside the animal, as eggs and larvae develop in manure and on pasture. A dewormer only reaches the worms currently inside the animal. It does nothing to the population already sitting on the ground, and that population is exactly what reinfects the herd a few weeks later.

These are averages across multiple trials, not guarantees for any individual operation. Results vary by season, climate, existing pasture contamination, and how consistently the product is fed. None of these studies claim complete elimination of pasture parasites, and BioWorma shouldn't be measured against that bar. Which Animals Can Use BioWorma

How to Use BioWorma

From there, move treated animals onto lower-risk pasture where possible, ideally ground the same species hasn't grazed in at least six weeks. Feeding is most useful during periods when conditions favor larval development, generally when temperatures stay above 40°F, which covers most of the grazing season across much of the country.
